Electro-Mechanic I_Maintenance

About the role

The Electro-mechanic I works with Mechanical, Electrical systems on production equipment and Maintenance teams. This position is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical installations, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment. The Electro-mechanic I must have familiarity of Programmable Logic Controlled (PLC) systems. In addition, this position will support the overall facility maintenance including but not limited to: basic plumbing, snow removal, event preparation, basic construction, painting, etc.

Responsibilities

• E 40% Mechanical Maintenance - Corrective and breakdown maintenance of all equipment: Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturers' specifications or supervisor's instructions, using hand and power tools, precision measuring or testing devices.
• Dismantles machine or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective part
• Replaces defective part with new part or repairs or reproduces part
• Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction
• Basic fabrication and repair of all necessary equipment
• E 25% Preventative and corrective maintenance on all equipment - Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment, following preventive maintenance schedule to ensure all machinery is in good, safe working order
• E 15% Electrical Maintenance - Perform testing, diagnostic, maintenance and troubleshooting work on machine tools and systems including: NC and CNC controls, PLC hardware and software, control circuits, electro/mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Performs maintenance and repairs on plant power distribution systems
• Applies electrical knowledge to research and identify electrical components and parts
• E 10% Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds (including snow removal, basic plumbing, HVAC and basic carpentry, etc.)
• E 10% Installing, troubleshooting and upgrading of all equipment; Ability to install conduit, electrical wiring, air/water/hydraulic piping or any additional systems required for proper machine installation with direction from senior Technicians, engineering or supervision. Read blue prints, schematic drawings and diagrams in order to properly and safely install machinery
• Assembles and test operates machine to verify safe working order and proper functionality

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Electro-mechanics (or similar area of study) or Apprenticeship in Electromechanical Maintenance or High School Diploma/GED and equivalent years of experience
• 3+ years experience and knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and machine shop tools and equipment within a similar working environment
• Able to read and interpret: electrical line diagrams, schematics and blue prints
• Basic knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), PLC (Allen Bradley, etc.) and sequential programming devices
• Experience with running conduit, relays, terminations, controls wiring, 120/240/480 volts
• Experience with troubleshooting and replacement of electrical components including AC and DC motor drive controls
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Able to work well with a team as well as independently
• Basic computer skills (email, PM schedules, work orders, etc.)
• Able to work in a stressful environment (loud, dirty, confined spaces, etc.)
• Valid PA driver’s license with ability to drive 24,900lb box truck or flat bed with manual or automatic transmission

Qualifications

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting, pounding, pushing and/or pulling
• Maintain attention to detail to complete work assignments
• Manage time effectively to comply with scheduled work time and maintain productivity requirements

Skills And Abilities

• Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controlled (PLC) systems
• Ability to use all multi-meter, amp-meter, oscilloscope and other electrical test tools necessary
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to work well with a team as well as independently
• Basic computer skills (email, PM schedules, work orders, etc.)
• Ability to work in a stressful environment (loud, dirty, confined spaces, etc.)
• Valid PA driver’s license with ability to drive 24,900lb box truck or flat bed with manual or automatic transmission
