About the role

W-Industries is an energy service company specializing in Automation Solutions, I&E Construction Services, Power Generation, and Packaged Equipment for the Energy and Industrial markets. The company is seeking an experienced Electrician with 5+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Bend conduit, cut, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using appropriate tools.
  • Install, modify and fabricate cable tray according to drawings and P&ID's.
  • Read and interpret P&ID's, wiring diagrams, and instrument loop drawings.
  • Pull wiring through wiring raceway, assisted by a helper.
  • Load, transport, and unload tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
  • Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments like ohmmeter, battery, buzzer, and oscilloscope.
  • Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and make necessary adjustments, relocations, or replacements.
  • Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels, and secure them in place with screws or bolts using hand or power tools.
  • Aid in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and workpieces during installation.
  • Work on electrical systems ranging from 12Vdc to 480VAC; perform electrical metering and diagnostic testing.
  • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills

  • Read and understand P&ID's (symbols, tags, and instrument lines), wiring diagrams, and instrument loop drawings.

Required Experience

  • Must have 5+ years of Electrical experience.

Job Details

  • Indoor, climate-controlled work environment.
  • Per diem: $69/day + free lunch at the jobsite.
  • Lodging: Hotel paid by the customer.
  • Schedule: 12-hour days Monday through Friday; 10-hour days Saturday and Sunday.
  • Assignment length: May stay and work as long as desired; minimum 2-3 weeks expected per rotation.
  • No travel time or mileage paid.

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to reach with arms and use tools above/over the head.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to stand (for extended periods of time), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.
  • Ability to sit, balance, and climb ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
  • Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.
  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
