Job Description

Parsons is looking for an Air Traffic Systems Electrician to join our team. This role involves installing navigational aids, communications systems, and weather monitoring equipment on airfields across the United States National Airspace (NAS).

T5 Program Summary

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work as part of a construction and installation crew
  • Install new or upgrade existing equipment and systems such as navigational aids, air traffic communications systems, and weather monitoring equipment
  • Establish new or upgrade existing airfield or air traffic control systems such as Instrument Landing Systems (ILS), visual landing aids (PAPI, REIL, etc.), remote communications systems (RCAG, RTR), and radar systems (ASR, ARSR)
  • Complete electrical systems installation, civil construction tasks, and electrical equipment installation tasks

What Required Skills You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience with above and below ground electrical installations, duct banks, manholes, steel racks, towers and poles, surveying, concrete work, excavation equipment operations, and airfield systems
  • Familiarity with construction quality and safety best practices
  • Ability to read, interpret, and implement project drawings, specifications, and client orders and standards
  • Experience with the use of electrical and electronics test equipment
  • 100% travel required throughout the United States, its territories and possessions, and anywhere federally owned and operated air traffic equipment is operated
  • Pass government background check to qualify
  • Pass fleet driver motor vehicle history check as well as DOT physical requirements
  • 5 plus years of experience required
  • OSHA 30 training preferred
