About the role
W-Industries is an energy service company specializing in Automation Solutions, I&E Construction Services, Power Generation and Packaged Equipment for the Energy and Industrial markets. We seek Electrical Technicians/Electricians with 2 to 3 years of experience to perform field installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using tools such as a hacksaw, pipe threading machine and conduit bender.
- Install, modify and fabricate cable trays according to drawings and P&IDs.
- Read and understand electrical schematics, P&IDs (symbols, tags and instrument lines), wiring diagrams and instrument loop drawings.
- Pull wiring through raceways, assisted by helper.
- Load, transport and unload tools, equipment and supplies.
- Mount and install grounding leads.
- Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
- Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, and fasten in place with screws or bolts using hand or power tools.
- Assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation.
- Work on electrical systems ranging from 12 VDC to 480 VAC; use electrical meters and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting.
- Perform minor maintenance including cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures including lockout/tag out procedures.
Requirements
- 2 to 3 years of electrical experience (required).
- Ability to read and translate P&IDs, wiring diagrams, instrument loop drawings, and applicable codes and standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Proven problem solver, results focused, self-motivated.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work individually and on a team.
Desirable Qualifications
- Electrical Certification.
- Forklift/Boom lift Certification.

Schedule
80-hour work weeks with a flexible rotation schedule.
Pay
$27 – $33 per hour.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach with arms and use tools above/over the head.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to stand (for extended periods), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist.
- Ability to sit, balance and climb ladders, scaffolds and other objects.
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.
- Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
Per diem: $69/day + Lunch at the job location; Lodging provided.
