Electrician Senior Intermediate (III) - Night Shift

About the Role

The Electrician Senior Intermediate (III) maintains, troubleshoots, and improves electrical systems and production equipment to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across assigned manufacturing areas. This role provides advanced electrical support, develops detailed job plans, and mentors lower-level electricians to improve overall plant performance and technical capability.

Key expectations include safe work practices following OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and facility safety requirements; high-quality workmanship with a customer-service mindset; adherence to established standards; continued growth in advanced maintenance knowledge; and clear communication regarding work needs and improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical and control systems, including:
  • MCCs, motors, inverters, converters, reactors, and power distribution components
  • PLCs, robotics, drives, and associated automation systems
• Troubleshoot and execute repairs for complex issues impacting safety, quality, or productivity:
  • Distinguish between mechanical, electrical, process, and product-related issues
  • Provide detailed findings and root-cause information to leadership
  • Recommend and verify updates to electrical schematics and documentation
• Perform proactive maintenance:
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) inspections, measurements, and adjustments
  • Perform condition-based maintenance (CM) based on PM or predictive maintenance (PdM) results
  • Develop detailed job plans and update schematics as required
• Support projects and process improvements:
  • Execute work orders for reliability improvements, production enhancements, and equipment upgrades
  • Install or replace components such as motors, drives, line reactors, filters, induction chokes, starters, control systems, PLC hardware, and facility electrical systems
• Mentor and support the electrical team:
  • Coach Electrician Intermediate (II) employees to develop required skills
  • Assist Electrician Advanced (IV) and Electrician Master (V) team members with advanced installations and upgrades
  • Continue developing personal expertise for higher-level roles

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of Electrician Intermediate (II) requirements (DOS)
• Previous electrical experience
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in advanced electrical troubleshooting
• Experience with PLC hardware and industrial control systems

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-4 years of electrical experience in manufacturing
• Industrial electrical certification or technical school coursework
• Advanced training in PLCs, VFDs, robotics, or automation

Circuit & Component Knowledge

• Ability to size wire and components for single- and three-phase circuits
• Strong understanding of PLC operation and control system fundamentals
