Electrician - Moses Lake Production Campus (Moses Lake Plant)

About the role

This role is responsible for understanding electrical systems and equipment. The individual must be capable of troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining systems, fully comprehending their purpose and operation, and making sound judgment decisions when required. The position demands constant awareness of safety in equipment operation and surroundings. Strong work relationships and communication skills are essential for success in this role, requiring open dialogue with team leaders, operators, laborers, mechanics, other electricians, supervisors, and shift managers. Work may occur both inside and outside the facility depending on requirements.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains electrical systems and control systems on equipment
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment, electrical networks, control panels, and other control system components
• Interfaces with supervisory personnel about equipment conditions and electrical system difficulties
• Maintains, repairs, and installs plant lighting
• Uses electrical/electronic prints/schematics, ladder logic, plant computer systems, the current National Electrical Codes, and test equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Responds to electrical line calls on shift and completes all assigned jobs
• Enters and performs work on work orders; plans and schedules additional work as needed
• Understands the purpose of Preventative Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance and participates in these programs
• Maintains a clean and functional work area
• Locates parts and references part numbers
• Accurately enters data into computer systems and daily paperwork in a timely manner
• Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 5+ years of related experience and/or training

Other Information

• Working knowledge of basic electrical safety practices
• Understanding of DC voltage systems (0 to 240V) and AC voltage systems (24 to 480)
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
• Ability to use voltage testers, meggers, amp probes, and other electrical test equipment
• Ability to perform basic math, compute rate, ratio, percent, read a tape measure, and measure with calipers
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English to successfully perform job duties
• Computer skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in extreme environments: hot, cold, wet, and slick floors
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, and maneuver in close quarters
• Ability to use appropriate personal protective equipment, such as respirators, SCBA, and safety harness as appropriate for given tasks
• Complete understanding and safe operation of hand, power, and shop tools
• Ability to read and understand basic electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Must furnish own hand tools

Pay

$31.82 – $43.53 per hour depending on experience
