Primary Responsibilities
- Repair, fabricate, and install equipment using electrical and machine shop tools and practices.
- Work from schematic diagrams, drawings, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Understand and apply all related Standards, Codes, and Regulations.
- Notify Group Leader or Supervisor of safety-related problems or issues.
- Prepare maintenance and repair ledgers and inform departments on activities, equipment performance, project status, etc.
- Maintain and place requisitions for equipment, parts, and supply inventories.
- Clean and maintain a secure and safe work environment.
Measurement Areas
- Safety: No accidents or injuries.
- Quality: Assignments satisfactorily meet quality specifications.
- Service: Responsiveness, effectiveness, and a total commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Productivity: Demonstrated Skills, including Effective Problem Solver, Tradesman, Competent Organizer, and Active Communicator.
Education and/or Experience
- HS Diploma/GED required.
- Requires an electrical/mechanical vocational or trade school diploma, or equivalent job training.
- Five to six years of experience required with basic trade skills, techniques, theories, and knowledge of layouts, materials, equipment, and devices.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Sit, stand, bend, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- Lift or move up to 45 pounds.
- Close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.
- Must be able to perform all responsibilities while adorned in proper safety eye, ear, ventilation, hand, and foot protective gear.
