ELECTRICIAN MASTER LEVEL 4

About the Role

Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a valid Texas driver's license and meet and maintain insurance requirements of PISD.
• Must pass an initial drug test and be part of a random drug testing program.
• Must pass a criminal history check.
• Texas State Journeyman Electrical License required.

Skills

• Familiarity with basic electrical systems: installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, interpret instructions, and prepare simple specifications.
• Willingness to acquire a Texas Class A commercial driver's license.
• Minimum of 5 years as a Journeyman Electrician preferred.
• Working knowledge of computer systems for email, time entry, and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Plans, lays out, installs, and repairs fuse boxes, switch panels, electric controls, electrical wiring, and electrical fixtures.
• Performs troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, HVAC equipment, refrigeration, intercom systems, and building electrical systems.
• Removes and replaces or repairs electrical equipment such as light switches, receptacles, defective wiring, light fixtures, generators, motors, and motor starters.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit using tools like hack saws, pipe threading equipment, and conduit benders.
• Completes preventive maintenance inspections of assigned equipment.
• Determines the scope of repairs, orders and installs materials and parts, and tests circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and safety.
• Assists in the installation of new or modified electrical work as directed.
• Completes work orders and submits them to the supervisor upon job completion.
• Responds to occasional after-hour emergencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Mental Demands: Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting. Must have use of all faculties and be able to work from ladders and elevated platforms. Work is performed outdoors with exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals, and materials. May work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
