Electrician Level I
Bard College seeks an Electrician Level I to join the Buildings and Grounds department. This role works under the supervision of the Physical Plant Department and supports trades, utilities, grounds, housekeeping, and general operations across the campus.

Responsibilities
- Install, repair, replace, and maintain the College’s electrical, communications, alarm, and cable systems and components, including control systems, motors, generators, transformers, power lines, and electrically-operated equipment.
- Perform duties in a diligent, professional, and workmanlike manner.
- Operate required mechanical equipment and vehicles for transporting materials and equipment.
- Maintain records for material acquisition and inventory.
- Assist other trades to ensure harmonious and efficient completion of assignments.
- Report deficiencies and unsafe conditions in campus systems.
- Provide own hand tools to perform duties professionally.
- Perform other related work as assigned, including required overtime.
- Conform to Bard College’s safety and efficiency standards.
Requirements
- Physical ability and willingness to perform assigned work.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Verifiable professional work experience in electrical work or completion of trade school education.
- Electrical training.
- Valid NYS driver’s license.
Pay
$38.80/hour, less a $0.75/hour probationary adjustment for the first 90 days.
