Electrician Level 1 SA- A Team

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, and continuously improves all packaging and process machinery and systems.
• Eliminates breakdowns of machinery and systems.
• Reports to and provides a daily summary of work to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
• Assigns and completes work as directed by the maintenance planner.
• Acts as an active member of the maintenance team.
• Participates in team meetings and fosters cohesiveness among team members.
• Identifies and resolves issues within the team and supports the team in achieving organizational goals.

Simmons Operating Systems Principles and Objectives

• Familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies).
• Responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and understand their impact on the position.
• Communication of concerns and improvement ideas related to the systems.

Physical Activities

• Sit, stand, and walk regularly.
• Enter and locate information on a computer.
• Verify information visually, often in small print.
• Lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work in extreme temperatures, on feet for the entire shift.
• Work in cramped, enclosed, elevated, wet, dirty areas with high noise levels.
• Pass a fit test, physical, and pulmonary function test.
• Wear H2S monitor and full-face respirator.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Technical Experience

• Preference for 2-3 years of industrial maintenance electrical experience/skills.
• Working knowledge of governing Electrical Code and Safety requirements including NFPA 70E.

Industry Experience

• Preference for food manufacturing organization.

Minimum Education

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
