Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Current State of Texas Journeyman or Master Electrician License
- Seven (7) years of experience in the trade
- Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language
- Class B CDL or the ability to obtain within six months of employment
- Clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirement
- Working knowledge of codes and ordinances concerning Electrical systems
- Ability to read, comprehend, and edit specifications and prints for new constructions
Pay
$30.67 per hour (HS12 Salary, based on verifiable job-related experience as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year)
Schedule
261 days per year
Responsibilities
- Perform all responsibilities of an Electrician I-IV
- Maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees
- Serve as first contact for problems, concerns, or grievances
- Make recommendations to the Electrical Foreman on addressing disciplinary issues
- Keep the Foreman abreast of daily work activities
- Coordinate and assist the department with modifications, work orders, emergencies, and large projects as needed to complete assignments
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Management Team
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds
- Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks
- Be available for after-hour demands, subject to 24-hour responsibility
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to keep information confidential
