About the role
Maintenance Technician in a food manufacturing setting, focusing on troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems to ensure reliable operations and compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Independently troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, including PLCs and Allen-Bradley systems
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and control diagrams
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic testing equipment safely
- Ensure process reliability and safety compliance, including Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Document work orders and maintenance activities accurately
- Respond to unplanned maintenance needs and execute follow-up tasks
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and communicate updates effectively
Requirements
- Electrical/Maintenance Journeyman License in Michigan
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing maintenance experience
- Proficiency in troubleshooting PLCs, ladder logic, and reading schematics
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work off-shift and weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with food processing environments and calibration tools
- Computer literacy
- Willingness to learn SAP/PPE systems
