Electrician Journeyman

Delta Constructors is seeking an Electrician Journeyman to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on oil drilling sites, production pads, and commercial sites. This role involves interpreting work orders, process sheets, sketches, and drawings, converting production drawings into actionable tasks, and collaborating with Apprentice crews.

Schedule

60 hours per week, 4 weeks ON / 2 weeks OFF.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination, and assigning of crews to achieve customer satisfaction
• Read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Convert production drawings to tasks and work with crew to complete
• Install and repair equipment, wiring, or control devices
• Perform preventative maintenance on motors, pumps, generators, etc.
• Maintain substations and all electrical distribution systems
• Maintain, identify, and clearly mark all electrical panels as to functions of controls
• Repair and calibrate electric line and electronic machinery, controls, and distribution equipment
• Train and mentor new employees and Apprentice Electricians
• Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with NEC, NFPA, and all applicable electrical codes, as well as Company and Client standards
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of electrical experience in oilfield (preferred)
• New Mexico Electrical License required, or ability to obtain reciprocity in New Mexico (must submit with application)
• Current and valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) certificates, or ability to obtain upon hire
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Maintain an active electrical license

Skills

• Knowledge and experience with power tools, electrical equipment, and construction equipment
• Knowledge of electrical codes and proper electrical equipment use, including adherence to Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, operational and mechanical systems, including installation, test, maintenance, and repair
• Understanding of how electrical systems operate under normal and emergency conditions
• Understanding of electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Skilled in repair of electrical equipment, wiring, and other fixtures
• Strong mechanical, analytical, and solution-driven skills
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
• Basic math skills
• Strong troubleshooting ability
• Ability to diagnose system malfunctions, locate cause of breakdown, and recommend solutions
• Ability to recognize and respond to dangerous situations or emergencies (e.g., high voltage systems, electrical fires, loose hot wires, broken power lines)
• Ability to give direction and oversight to helpers and apprentices

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Regularly required to talk, hear, and see
• Frequently required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and walk
• Occasionally required to sit
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds
• Adequate visual acuity to perform all required tasks safely
• Work environment is usually loud and may require use of ear protection
• Work is primarily outdoors at job sites with exposure to inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and equipment
• Must comply with all Company and Client policies and stay on-site during the work rotation
