Electrician II

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and enhance electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring
• Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components
• Perform all work in compliance with electrical codes, blueprints, and standards
• Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning
• Prepare, bend conduit, and pull wires
• Complete required documentation of repairs and service information
• Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts
• Calibrate equipment to provided specifications
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
• Troubleshoot problems and make timely repairs
• Perform maintenance on IT Networks
• Operate a variety of equipment, including fork trucks, cranes, and other powered equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and robotic systems
• Read and work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
• Calculate basic mathematical problems

Essential and Physical Activities

• Strength: Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
• Motion: Stand, kneel, squat, and climb for the majority of the day; work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs; dig trenches and work in tight, restricted spaces
• Vision/Hearing: Read schematics and blueprints; exposure to loud noises and machinery

Work Environment

• Majority of time spent indoors, with significant outdoor exposure in uncontrolled environments (extreme hot/cold, rain, snow)
• Exposure to hazardous chemicals, materials, oily/dirty conditions, and live circuits
• Safety-sensitive position requiring work around rail tracks, machinery, and moving equipment
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing, head, eye, and foot protection is mandatory
• Emotional Demands: Quick decision-making and troubleshooting, especially during power outages and failures

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience
• Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
• Working knowledge of electrical theory, principles, materials, and equipment
• Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems
• High School Diploma or GED
• Apprenticeship or Technical/Vocational Degree preferred but not required
