About the role

Installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and electrical codes.
Ensure all safety and lock out tag out procedures are followed if applicable.
Inspect and repair electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, to ensure compliance with electrical codes.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Install or maintain electrical control systems, industrial automation systems, or electrical equipment, including control circuits, variable speed drives, or programmable logic controllers.
Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or ammeters, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Modify, maintain, or repair electrical, electronic, equipment, or systems to ensure proper functioning.
Perform all electrical preventative maintenance and visual inspection for damage on equipment in applicable areas.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment or fixtures.
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Train employees as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • State Electrician License.
  • Able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Able to work extended scheduled hours Monday through Saturday with daily overtime.
  • Able to work overtime as required.
  • Start times and hours vary based on production needs.
  • Must be able to successfully complete training: Safety, Safe Quality Food (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Food defense, Lock out/Tag out, OSHA 10-hour, First aid, Forklift, Genie lift.
  • Prior lead or management experience.
  • Diploma or GED.
  • College education.
  • Prior maintenance experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork or poultry facility.
  • Prior production experience.
  • Work history in the last 12 months.

Skills

  • Knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.
  • Experience with various types of electrical equipment and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Effective communication skills to train employees and advise management.

Pay
