Electrician, High Voltage

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Electrician‑High Voltage to join the team in Springfield, VA, supporting a government customer. The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of electrical trade functions including installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.
• Install or repair generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
• Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
• Locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
• Perform standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Use a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal or informal education or training ensuring the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
• Medium voltage experience.
• Familiarity with electrical control systems.
• Familiarity with the NEC (National Electrical Code).
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
• NETA III Certification, or NICET II Electrical Power Testing, or Virginia Electrical Journeyman’s license/certificate.
• NICET I Electrical Power Testing preferred.
• Electrical Journeyman’s license/certificate or 10 years of experience in a commercial/industrial setting.
• Master Electrician’s license preferred.
• OSHA 30 Card preferred.
• NFPA 70E Certification preferred.

Pay

Compensation: $70.34 (hourly rate).
