Electrician Helper
About the role
This position will assist in a variety of tasks associated with the installation, repair, and maintenance of traffic signals and related equipment, including assisting and working with the underground crews.
Responsibilities
- Pulling, measuring, cutting, and bending wire.
- Installing conduit and pull boxes.
- Aid in building electrical services.
- Aid with on-site work duties.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must possess a current DOT Medical Card or acquire one as part of pre-employment screening.
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
- Basic knowledge of electrical design concepts and techniques.
Qualifications
- Pre-Screen: Employees may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
- A valid driver's license is required.
Physical Requirements
- Sit.
- Climb or balance.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Safety
- Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools.
- Be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
- Be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments.
- Be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
- Have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain.
- Be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day.
- Communicate with others.
- Read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information.
- Communicate and handle conflict professionally.
