Responsibilities
- Install, test, and service electrical light and power distribution circuits, equipment, appliances, fire alarms systems, and other related electrical services at the University.
- Test and maintain life safety systems including fire alarm systems, egress lighting, fire extinguishers, elevator emergency phones, and other tasks required by code.
- Keep accurate records of all work performed.
Qualifications / Skills
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Seven years of previous experience with commercial/industrial electric or completion of a four-year apprenticeship.
- A valid Ohio Driver’s License is required.
- Must be capable of independent judgment and follow oral or written instructions.
- Must be able to work from blueprints or sketches.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including the National Electrical Code, National Fire Protection Agency (Articles 70 & 72), OSHA requirements, and safe practices.
- Ability to lift and handle weights common to this trade and work at heights up to 35 feet from a scaffold or ladder.
- Required to be on an emergency call-in rotation schedule.
