Electrician

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all types of electrical wiring, machinery, and lighting systems. They will also be required to troubleshoot machine controls and PLCs.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, schematic / wiring drawings
• Install and maintain all types of wiring, machinery installs, building projects and lighting systems
• Inspect electrical components, such as bus bars, transformers, circuit breakers, electrical panels and circuit boards
• Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing equipment
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools
• Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department in a prescribed manner
• Train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
• Work in the Foundry and some split shifts on occasion
• Sign off on other maintenance personnel’s electrical work
• Troubleshoot machine controls and PLCs

Requirements

• Ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions
• Vocational/Technical Degree
• Knowledge of all types of electrician tools
• State and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and Arc Flash requirements
• Final inspection of all work performed

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all types of electrician tools needed to perform their assigned tasks
• Ability to train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot machine controls and PLCs
