About the role
The Electrician is a skilled professional who specializes in electrical systems and wiring. Their primary responsibility is to install, maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Installing various electrical components and systems, such as electrical panels, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and wiring
- Performing regular maintenance checks on electrical systems to identify and fix any potential issues
- Troubleshooting problems, such as electrical outages, faulty circuits, or malfunctioning equipment, and carrying out repairs to restore functionality
- Upgrading existing electrical systems to meet current standards or accommodate new equipment and appliances
- Prioritizing safety in their work, adhering to safety guidelines and regulations to prevent electrical hazards and ensure the well-being of occupants and property
- Conducting various tests and inspections on electrical systems to verify their performance and compliance with industry standards
- Interpreting electrical blueprints and technical diagrams to plan and execute installations accurately
- Ensuring knowledge of electrical codes and regulations to ensure that all installations and repairs meet legal requirements and industry standards
- Communicating effectively with other professionals, such as construction teams and project managers, to understand project requirements and collaborate effectively
- Managing time effectively to prioritize tasks and complete projects within specified timelines
- Providing good customer service, explaining electrical issues to clients, and addressing their concerns
- Staying updated with the latest electrical technologies, tools, and safety practices through ongoing training and professional development
Requirements
Position requirements include:
- Extended hours, which will vary depending on job and site requirements
- Working weekends if business needs require
- Regular attendance
Physical and cognitive requirements include:
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Able to traverse in all weather conditions and work in extreme temperatures
- Able to sit in a chair on a computer, at times, for more than 8 hours / day
- Able to stand and walk continuously through shift
- Wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), respirator, when required
- May be exposed to dust, fumes, and odoriferous working conditions
Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
- Master Electrician licensing in state performing work
- Previous experience as an Electrician in the construction industry
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred skills and qualifications include:
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and construction practices
- Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and regulations
- Ability to interpret electrical design drawings, specifications, and related documentation
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in drawings
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills related to electrical systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Familiarity with electrical construction practices and terminology

- Knowledge of procurement and subcontractor management
