Electrician
This is a union role based in Golden Valley, MN with an on-site work schedule, reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
About the role
As an Electrician at Honeywell, you will ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities and equipment, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. You will impact the reliability and performance of Honeywell’s manufacturing and operational assets by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting repair activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Responsibilities
- Hook up power, lighting, and temperature controls (switches, lights, relays, etc.)
- Determine appropriate components, wire size, protective covering, and wiring layout
- Diagnose problems quickly to identify causes and determine effective courses of action to avoid extended equipment downtime
- Report serious trouble to the Supervisor in a timely manner to expedite additional resources as needed
- Perform installation, replacement, repair, and troubleshooting maintenance of electric circuitry associated with production and facility equipment
- Order supplies as required
The work environment includes exposure to dust, heat, humidity, and other factors.
Requirements
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for this role:
- Minnesota Journeyman’s License
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematic drawings related to equipment and systems, along with an understanding of Ohm’s Law
- Experience performing maintenance tasks in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for maintenance activities
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices to maintain a safe work environment
- Ability to work with advanced mathematics, all types of circuit drawings, and test equipment
- Training and/or experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Automation Controls
- Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status)
Qualifications
The following qualifications are valued in this role:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to effectively troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Technical or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related fields
- Previous experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime as needed to support operations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel)
Pay
The hourly pay rate for this position is $45.76. This rate serves as a general guideline; Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
