Electrician
About the role
We're Groundworks, North America's leading foundation repair and water management specialist. As a Top Workplace, we're looking for top talent to support our foundation repair, crawlspace encapsulation, and basement waterproofing operations. This role focuses on installing and servicing electrical components that power moisture control systems, sump pumps, dehumidifiers, and lighting in residential settings. The Electrician instructs apprentices on how to perform electrical repairs, ensuring work adheres to state and local electrical codes and company best practices while preventing potential safety hazards.
Responsibilities
- Install dedicated circuits for sump pumps, dehumidifiers, and other moisture control equipment
- Mount and wire light fixtures, outlets, switches, and GFCIs in crawlspaces and basements
- Ensure all electrical work complies with state building codes and standards
- Perform safety checks and troubleshoot minor electrical issues
- Collaborate with waterproofing and encapsulation crews to coordinate installations
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used
- Communicate clearly with homeowners and team members regarding scope of work
- Instruct electrical apprentices on installation and repair of electrical components and supervise their work
- Regularly and reliably report to work on time each working day
- Perform other duties as necessary or assigned
Requirements
- Valid electrical license issued by the state where the work will be performed, required on a state-by-state basis
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with residential electrical installation, repair, and service
- Experience with waterproofing systems and encapsulation methods preferred
- Valid, non-restrictive driver’s license and ability to meet requirements to become an approved driver
- Ability to work in crawl spaces, basements, and other confined or damp environments
- Extensive knowledge of local and state building codes and standards
- Proficient working with computer software; detail-oriented, focused, and a team player
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures, as well as observe safety guidelines
- OSHA 30 Safety Certification preferred
Working Conditions
The position involves lifting heavy objects and/or up to 30 lbs., walking and standing for long periods, and performing strenuous physical labor. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, crawls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively lifts and carries heavy loads. The role requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand and arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination, as well as the ability to quickly move arms and legs. Excellent stamina is required. The employee must have the ability to read reports, data, statistics, and information on computer screens.
