Electrician

About the role

The Electrician will assemble and wire electrical control panels, and assist in their start-up within a manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions

• Commercial wiring work in a manufacturing setting
• Aiding in construction of buildings - installing siding, trim work, hanging doors, and other tasks
• Running, bending, and hanging conduit
• Pulling wire
• Installing boxes
• Making terminations
• Support installation of new control panels
• Wiring generators and control panels
• Material handling

Competencies

• Basic electrical knowledge, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of NEC Code
• Knowledge of basic hand tools
• Ability to solve problems and analyze situations
• Strong communication skills
• Flexibility
• Multitasking
• Attention to detail

Work Environment

This job operates in a typical shop environment. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, uses power tools, and may operate a forklift. Noise levels can be loud.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms
• Sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Frequently lifts and moves up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifts and moves up to 50 pounds

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience required
• Post-secondary education or trade school; Journeyman Electrician preferred but not required
