About the role
The Electrician will assemble and wire electrical control panels, and assist in their start-up within a manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions
- Commercial wiring work in a manufacturing setting
- Aiding in construction of buildings - installing siding, trim work, hanging doors, and other tasks
- Running, bending, and hanging conduit
- Pulling wire
- Installing boxes
- Making terminations
- Support installation of new control panels
- Wiring generators and control panels
- Material handling
Competencies
- Basic electrical knowledge, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of NEC Code
- Knowledge of basic hand tools
- Ability to solve problems and analyze situations
- Strong communication skills
- Flexibility
- Multitasking
- Attention to detail
Work Environment
This job operates in a typical shop environment. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, uses power tools, and may operate a forklift. Noise levels can be loud.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms
- Sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Frequently lifts and moves up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifts and moves up to 50 pounds
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED with relevant experience required
- Post-secondary education or trade school; Journeyman Electrician preferred but not required
