Electrician

Key Job Functions

• Tests and repairs electrical systems
• Performs electrical preventive maintenance
• Installs and repairs various electrical equipment
• Works from blueprints and diagrams to locate and diagnose issues
• Performs calculations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment
• Uses a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring/testing instruments

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 5 years of Electrician experience within a government facility
• Must possess a valid electrician license and have experience in commercial electrical systems
• Ability to lift/move heavy objects (50 pounds)
• Ability to climb vertical ladders, work at heights (50 feet), operate forklifts and other lifts
• Proficient in distinguishing colors and using common hand and power tools
• Good working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire alarm, and electrical skills
• Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language
• Pass a government background check
