About the role

An electrician performs all types of electrical jobs throughout assigned locations or region, including maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery used in production and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
• Install, adjust, and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges, and instruments
• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and coordinate electrical needs, repairs, and modifications
• Ensure manufacturers' standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment
• Maintain good housekeeping
• Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times
• Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management

Requirements

• 5 years of electrical maintenance experience
• 3 years of experience in aggregate, cement, or heavy industrial operations preferred
• Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4,160 volts
• Programmable logic control and digital drive experience
• High school graduate; prefer associate degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance experience
• Able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual is a plus

Skills

• Computer literate with ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes; SAP experience is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Able to read and understand technical information in manuals, reports, and instructions
• Able to develop, read, and use mechanical, electrical, and structural sketches, blueprints, and drawings
• Good mathematical and mechanical aptitude
• Electrical troubleshooting skills and experience with motor control circuits and relay logic
• Able to prioritize tasks and work as a team member or individually

Working Conditions

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
• Must wear protective equipment while at the location

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to perform job functions including walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing, and pulling of controls
• Heavy Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
• Regularly required to talk and hear to communicate safely around heavy rolling equipment
