About the role
An electrician performs all types of electrical jobs throughout assigned locations or region, including maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery used in production and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
- Install, adjust, and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges, and instruments
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and coordinate electrical needs, repairs, and modifications
- Ensure manufacturers' standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment
- Maintain good housekeeping
- Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times
- Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
Requirements
- 5 years of electrical maintenance experience
- 3 years of experience in aggregate, cement, or heavy industrial operations preferred
- Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4,160 volts
- Programmable logic control and digital drive experience
- High school graduate; prefer associate degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance experience
- Able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual is a plus
Skills
- Computer literate with ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes; SAP experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to read and understand technical information in manuals, reports, and instructions
- Able to develop, read, and use mechanical, electrical, and structural sketches, blueprints, and drawings
- Good mathematical and mechanical aptitude
- Electrical troubleshooting skills and experience with motor control circuits and relay logic
- Able to prioritize tasks and work as a team member or individually
Working Conditions
- Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
- Must wear protective equipment while at the location
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform job functions including walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing, and pulling of controls
- Heavy Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Regularly required to talk and hear to communicate safely around heavy rolling equipment
