Electrician

Union hourly position based in Channahon, Illinois.

About the role

Electrician responsible for installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial electrical equipment and machines throughout the plant facility, including electrical and electronic controls.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: 7am–7pm or 7pm–7am
• Must work every other weekend and holidays if scheduled

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $47.41

Responsibilities

• Ensure the proper functioning of all electrical units in the facility
• Perform scheduled checks to spot malfunctions
• Appropriately use and handle electrical testing and repair equipment
• Complete tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and attend job-training activities
• Place orders for spare parts and equipment
• Maintain a log of electrical repair and maintenance works
• Coordinate work functions with co-workers and other organizational departments
• Follow all safety norms and standard operating procedures for working, cleaning, and lubricating parts
• Knowledge of PLC programs and troubleshooting
• Use CMMS for parts inventory and accuracy
• Responsible for Food Safety and Quality by following company Quality Systems and implementing Food Safety in the Maintenance department or any assigned department
• Perform all other tasks assigned by supervisor or designee

Requirements

• Prior experience or certification as a maintenance electrician
• High school graduate or GED preferred but not required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to identify technical malfunctions in electrical units
• Sound understanding of handling and using electrical repair tools and equipment
• Effective time management and ability to coordinate work functions with co-workers
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• SAP experience a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively across all disciplines within the organization
• Team player with good oral and written communication skills
