About the role
This position will consist of, but not be limited to, installation and maintaining electrical and power systems.
Responsibilities
- Examine blueprints, sketches, diagrams, building plans and specifications to determine locations of circuits, outlets, load centers, panel boards, wires, components and other equipment.
- Inspect, examine, select and gather materials and tools to ensure proper operation.
- Inspect all designated work areas for hazards and obstructions.
- Maintain the wiring and control equipment through which electricity flows.
- Maintain electrical equipment and machines.
- Maintain, fix, repair and upgrade existing electrical systems and components such as circuit breakers, fuses, switches, wire, motors, transformers, generators and tools.
- Adhere to state and local building/electrical codes.
- Use hand and power tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers, drills and saws.
- Use equipment to test connections and ensure capability such as ammeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters and harmonics testers.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
- Follow direction from supervisor.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Electrical Helper/Apprentice.
- Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, schematics and plans.
- Knowledge of industrial electrician hand tools, power tools and layout tools.
- Ability to meet all physical demands and pre-employment conditions.
- Reliable transportation and ability to work 7 days a week as needed.
- Ability to work at heights and climb ladders and stairways, and work off of platforms.
Certifications and/or Licenses Required
- Must have all required tools.
- Must have basic knowledge of electrical construction processes.
- Must be able to follow instructions correctly.
- Must be able to make it to work on time and work the designated schedule and any overtime as needed.
