Electrician (Airfield Maintenance)
Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate a variety of hand-held and electrical equipment and tools, including vacuum cleaners, strippers, waxers, etc. Must be able to exert 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or in excess of 50 pounds frequently, or in excess of 20 pounds constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those for sedentary work; must be able to perform manual tasks and remain on feet for extended periods of time. Required to work from ladders and personnel-lifts for extended periods of time to complete certain tasks (i.e., cleaning windows and vents; changing light bulbs, etc.). May be subject to a significant degree of danger or risk due to the use of chemicals/toxic agents in performing essential functions. Worker is exposed to moderate to loud noise levels.

Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of assigned facility and applicable components (i.e., equipment, doors, surfaces, cleaning materials and supplies).
Interpersonal Communication
Requires the ability of speaking and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information; includes receiving assignments and/or directions from supervisors. Requires the ability to tactfully and effectively interact with the public and with co-workers.
Numerical Aptitude
Must be able to add and subtract totals. May require the ability to multiply and divide.
Section 125 Plan (Flexible Spending Plan)

Florida Retirement System (FRS)
- The County pays a percent of the employees’ salary into the FRS. Employees may buy up an additional 10%.
Holidays / Annual and Sick Leave Accruals
- The County offers 10 paid holidays and annual and sick leave accrual.
Bereavement Leave
- In the event of death in an employee’s immediate family (as defined in the Human Resources policy), he/she may be granted bereavement leave with pay for up to a maximum of twenty-four hours (24) hours.
Deferred Compensation Savings
- Full-time employees offered free membership to Central Credit Union of Florida and Eglin Federal Credit Union. Participate through payroll deduction. Full-time employees may purchase U.S. Bonds through payroll deductions.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- Full-time employees may use the EAP after completion of 6 month Probationary period. Three counseling sessions will be provided by the EAP provider at no cost to employee/spouse or dependent.
Education Reimbursement Program
- Reimbursement of tuition and books for all full-time employees after one year of employment. (Department Head approval required).
