Electrician A

About the role

An Electrician with the ability, training, experience, and safety training required to diagnose, modify, repair, or install various types of industrial electrical systems with little to no supervision. Using manuals, prints, and technical service groups as needed, the Class A Electrician must troubleshoot and repair the majority of the plant's electrical systems independently. This includes but is not limited to:

• Motor controls
• P&ID and related instrument controls
• Electrical drives
• Lighting and heating systems
• Control panels
• Conduits
• Power distribution systems
• Alarm/monitoring systems

The individual must perform all electrical preventive maintenance (PMs) for the plant and complete wiring of common industry wiring schemes correctly and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks as assigned by the department lead/supervisor.
• Work as a team player to ensure product specifications are met safely and efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with other team members.
• Assist other departments as assigned by lead, supervisor, or manager.
• Follow Company’s GMPs, SOPs, plant rules, other policies, and codes of conduct.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Strive to satisfy the requirements of both internal and external customers.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial electricity experience.
• Computer proficient, able to use various CMMS systems to complete daily tasks.
• Knowledge of single-phase and 3-phase AC circuits.
• Knowledge of industrial controls (low voltage, photo-electric, proximity sensors, etc.).
• Ability to diagnose equipment problems with or without electrical schematics.
• Familiarity with electrical test equipment.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and utility systems.
• Strong knowledge of PLC/HMI operation, program diagnostics, and programming.
• Ability to diagnose and repair power distribution equipment and production equipment power/control circuits and related components.
• Attend equipment vendor training as needed.

Hourly rate is determined based on experience and placement test results. The position offers opportunities for step increases through established Boar’s Head training programs.
