Electrician-3rd Shift

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair 480V, 277V, 240V, and 120V electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair motors, motor starters, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, breakers, and control panels.
  • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify zero-energy states.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, singleline diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment (inputs/outputs, power supplies, communications).
  • Identify faults in control logic and work with engineering or controls personnel to resolve issues.
  • Support chemical processing equipment including pumps, mixers, conveyors, reactors, and packaging systems.
  • Respond to electrical breakdowns and emergency calls during third shift.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and shift reports.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical and control systems.
  • Identify potential failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification
  • 5+ years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing environment (chemical or process industry preferred)
  • High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics
  • Proficient with electrical testing equipment (multimeter, megger, clamp meter)
  • Willingness to work third shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in chemical manufacturing or hazardous environments
  • Knowledge of VFD programming and troubleshooting
  • Experience with industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, Profibus)
  • NFPA 70E or arc flash training
  • Basic understanding of instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level)
  • Assist with HMI screen navigation, alarm recognition, and basic configuration changes
  • Diagnose communication issues between HMI, PLCs, and field devices

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work in industrial environments with exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and access confined spaces
  • Capable of lifting to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including arc flash gear and respirators if necessary
