• Plan, coordinate set up, and install the electrical distribution, telephone, and wireless systems at various sites to support the repair station or fleets mission
• Knowledge of both marine and standard methods, techniques, principles, and trade practices
• Stay abreast with the applicable National Electric Code and Coast Guard Regulations

Requirements

• US Citizenship
• Ability to do the work without more than normal supervision: Installing, repairing, modifying, troubleshooting, loading and testing new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures and controls; diagnosing, modifying, overhauling, repairing and maintaining a variety of electrical devices, equipment and components
• One-year probationary period may be required
• TDY 75% travel may be required to remote sites throughout the region
• Appointment may be subject to suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation
• Position is designated as Non-Sensitive-No access security clearance
• This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program; incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R "Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program"
• Must possess a valid state driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in accomplishment of assigned duties
• Safe work practices are an integral part of this position; incumbent is required to know, comply with and promote prescribed safety rules and regulations
• Pre-employment physical exam required; incumbent may be required to lift up to 50 pounds
• This position may require rotating shifts
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship required
• This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act
• This position MAY be eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework"
