About the role
Northbridge University is seeking an Electrical with PLC Adjunct Instructor to join our growing team. Classes typically run Monday to Thursday and can be held in the morning or evening.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on and troubleshooting: Experience in the practical application of PLCs, including installation and troubleshooting, is essential for teaching real-world scenarios.
- Programming expertise: A strong command of PLC programming techniques and common software platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi) is fundamental for instructing students.
- Industrial automation knowledge: Instructors must understand industrial automation as a whole to provide comprehensive training that goes beyond just the PLC itself.
- Project and application experience: Experience with a wide variety of PLC systems and applications, perhaps from working with machine builders, provides a broad knowledge base for instruction.
- Continuous learning: Staying current with the latest PLC programming techniques is critical to providing relevant and up-to-date training.
Requirements
- Experience with PLC programming techniques and common software platforms.
- Specialized training and industry certifications in the Electrical Trades and applications are required.
- Two or more years of teaching or training experience.
- NCCER Certification as an Electrician is a plus.
- Must be computer literate in order to maintain and manage the course documents within the learning management system, and also educational resources.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements include a passion for teaching and a commitment to academic excellence. Candidates should have experience with PLC programming techniques and common software platforms, specialized training and industry certifications in the Electrical Trades and applications, two or more years of teaching or training experience, and NCCER Certification as an Electrician if applicable. Computer literacy is also required.
