Job Summary
Northwest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks qualified candidates for part-time faculty positions in the Electrical Trades & Apprenticeship program. This position involves classroom instruction of electrician apprentices and electrical skills students, sharing trade knowledge, and managing class curriculum.
Responsibilities
- Classroom Instruction: Provide appropriate instruction to electrician apprentices and electrical skills students based on their class/experience levels.
- Share Trade Knowledge: Share trade knowledge, experience, and expertise with apprentices and/or trades students.
- Curriculum Management: Create and/or manage the delivery of class curriculum according to standards outlined in the Western Arkansas Apprenticeship Program's Appendix A: Electrician and/or Electrical Skills course outlines.
- Attendance Reporting: Take class attendance and report it to the Director of Trades & Apprenticeship.
- Emergency Response: Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies following NWACC procedures.
- Adaptability: Be willing to adjust or adapt the delivery method of instruction as needed.
Requirements
- Knowledge of current edition of National Electrical Code®
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn NCCER Electrical curriculum
- Current licensure as a Journeyworker or Master Electrician in Arkansas
Physical Demands
- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting.
- Extended periods of time viewing computer monitor.
- May be required to work or meet in the evenings and/or on weekends.
- Requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting.
- To stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
- To lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
- To operate office equipment which may require repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
- To verbally communicate to exchange information.
Benefits
The rate of pay for this position is $35 per hour.

Schedule
- Most Trades & Apprenticeship classes are scheduled for in-person instruction between the hours of 4pm-10pm, Monday through Thursday.
- Opportunity to teach at an alternate location in future terms based upon program needs.
