About the Role

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring for a Senior or Expert Electrical Wiring Installation Technical Designer in San Antonio, TX. This position supports the Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) Division, primarily for the VC-25B program but with opportunities to support other MS&B programs such as P8, Tanker, and E7.

Wiring serves as the integration point between the physical aircraft structure and mission systems capability, offering the opportunity to interface and integrate with nearly every other design IPT. This role provides a chance to experience and learn about the entire aircraft and its systems.

This position is 100% onsite in San Antonio, TX and requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which U.S. Citizenship is required. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance post-start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).
  • Participates in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines.
  • Investigates and resolves manufacturing-related issues, including support for root cause identification and NCR dispositions.
  • Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies, and concepts.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Communicates effectively through listening, verbal, and written means.
  • Operates in a dynamic work setting, consistently multitasks, and prioritizes workload.
  • Demonstrates patience and resilience in an environment of dynamic change.
  • Exhibits flexibility, initiative, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and willingness to learn new areas.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent.
  • 6 or more years of related work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in wire installation design or working with electrical equipment.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Expert (Level 5): 9 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with 3D Modeling/CAD software.
  • 5+ years of experience with wire bundle/electrical design.
  • Experience in an engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with the 737, 747, or 777 aircraft and systems.
  • Experience with FAA certification requirements for electrical design.
  • Experience using WIRS.
  • Experience with CATIA V5 and ENOVIA.

Pay

Pay is based on candidate experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.

  • Senior (Level 4): $81,600 – $110,400
  • Expert (Level 5): $97,750 – $132,250

Schedule

This position is for 2nd shift.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
