ELECTRICAL WIRING ASSEMBLER III (Aerospace & Defense)

About the role

The Marvin Group is a strategic partner for global alternate mission equipment and sustainment. We are a leading defense contractor based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, specializing in the design and production of military Alternate Mission Equipment, armament test equipment, and power and thermal management systems.

Responsibilities

• Setup and operate various types of equipment, tools and fixtures/shop aids to fabricate and assemble electrical assemblies
• Setup and perform manual and computer-controlled operations for assembly and testing (as required)
• Understand and use planning instructions and assembly drawings
• Follow all policies and procedures to protect product from Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) damage
• Hi-REL soldering certification, specifications and procedures
• Learn, participate, and apply various trainings into daily work
• Verify that all components, consumables, equipment and calibration are within tolerance/expiration before using
• Use Lean and 6S methodologies to improve and maintain an efficient work area
• Perform other related duties as required

Skills/Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read blueprints and/or schematics
• IPC-610 Certification: The Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
• IPC-620 Certification: Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies certifications or equivalent required
• J-STD-001 Certification: Soldered Electrical & Electronic Assemblies required for Solder role
• Able to perform moderate, demanding, physical and repetitious work
• Able to solve problems
• Detailed-oriented and self-motivation skills
• Must be able to speak/read/write English
• Able to lift 35 lbs.

Work Environment

Mechanical/Machining environment, fast-paced, people and parts movement, moderate to medium noise level, potential odors from chemicals and/or processes, physically demanding, use of personal protective equipment required.
