Electrical VDC/BIM Manager
The Role
We are seeking an Electrical VDC Coordinator (BIM Manager level) to join our team on-site in San Jose, CA supporting a major client. This position will play a key role in leading coordination efforts for electrical scopes on high-complexity projects, while serving as the bridge between the field, remote BIM teams, and the client’s project management group.
General Scope & Goals
The Electrical VDC Coordinator leads the end-to-end electrical coordination process—managing workflows, aligning schedules, and ensuring high-quality model deliverables (LOD 400/500) that meet client and construction standards. While primarily focused on leadership and coordination, this role remains hands-on, ensuring technical accuracy and direct contribution to modeling and clash detection.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Coordination: Supervise and support BIM modelers and electrical specialists.
- Field Collaboration: Act as the on-site BIM lead, coordinating between the jobsite, ENG’s remote production team, and other trades.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain constant alignment with the client, project managers, and other disciplines.
- Project Execution: Guarantee model accuracy, constructability, and timely delivery.
- Technical Support: Mentor team members and provide guidance on standards and best practices.
- QA/QC: Review electrical models and drawings for compliance with project and quality standards before submission.
- Leadership: Represent ENG’s BIM expertise in coordination meetings, promoting proactive problem-solving and clear communication.
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Training in Electrical or Civil Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience using Revit and Navisworks for Electrical coordination.
- Proven experience leading BIM teams and technical coordination for large projects.
- Strong client-facing communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with U.S. projects, codes, and construction standards.
- Proficiency in LOD 400/500 deliverables, prefabrication, kitting, and spooling workflows.
- Must be based in the United States and able to work on-site in San Jose, CA for approximately 2 years.
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare projects and large-scale commercial construction.
- Previous exposure to remote-team coordination from the jobsite.
- Familiarity with prefabrication and field installation workflows.
