About the role
The Electrical Test Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation of production sub-assemblies, modules, and systems. This includes performing thorough inspections, troubleshooting issues, and conducting burn-in processes.
Responsibilities
- Performs thorough inspections of each unit, PCB or subassembly before testing.
- Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems to determine the cause of non-conformance.
- Tests production sub-assemblies, modules, and systems to ensure proper operation according to established test criteria.
- Performs required repairs to return units to operational state and tests to factory specifications.
- Operates oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies, loads, test fixtures, etc., and understands their use and function.
- Maintains a clean and safe working area on a daily basis.
- Reports any unusual problems that occur during testing to the Production/QC Manager or Test Lead.
- Uses hand tools and operates small power tools as needed.
- Notifies the Production and QC Manager of any defective test equipment, test fixtures, tools, etc.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years electronics experience.
- Knowledge of high power electronics—480 VAC, single phase and three phase power.
- Experience with AC to AC converter systems.
- Familiarity and experience with IGBT’s, analog circuitry, and AC-DC conversion.
- Knowledge of through hole and SMT circuitry.
- Power supply experience.
- Knowledge of Power Factor Correction circuitry.
Qualifications
- Certificate or degree in Electronics (preferred).
Skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to operate various test equipment and tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Good communication skills.
