Key job responsibilities
- Work with hardware development, regulatory & compliance, program management, and other hardware test team members.
- Develop test strategies and solutions for new products, focusing on automation, cycle time reduction, and improving product quality.

- Meet with cross-functional teams to comprehend the business needs for your project, reviewing and providing feedback on requirements, and developing test plans to verify and validate adherence to said requirements.
- Working with other Test Engineers, Hardware and Software developers regarding tools and techniques required for testing.
- Develop test fixtures, test execution strategies, and test reports.
About the team
The Hardware Test Engineering team is accountable for testing any new prototype/pre-production hardware designs within Amazon's robotic solutions. They validate that any design meets their high standards for quality, efficiency, and most of all, safety. Part of the larger "Systems Engineering and Evaluation" group, they work directly alongside test engineers from other disciplines (Mechanical Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers) to build end-to-end test strategies for Robotic products. The team is located in both BOS12 and BOS27, with lab spaces and test capabilities in both facilities. Occasional travel between office locations is common.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- 4+ years of technical engineering experience
- Experience developing test strategies and plans for complex hardware/software systems or systems of systems
- Experience with test plan development, building the necessary test bench infrastructure, developing tests and verifying the design
- Experience in component selection and understanding of component reliability
- Experience in hardware lab equipment such as digital scopes, logic analyzers, and soldering tools
- Experience designing test fixtures, automated controls, and wiring schematics
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Experience with RF measurement equipment, including: power meters, spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, network analyzers, oscilloscopes
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
- Experience identifying and solving complex problems through data analysis
- Experience working with Linux
- Experience with sensors, 2D/3D cameras, and/or associated test methodology
- Experience in circuit level debug to the component level.
- Basic programming experience in a high-level programming language such as Python
