Responsibilities
- Design hardware components including test fixtures, interface hardware, cable harnesses, and custom circuit boards
- Create and validate electrical functional tests
- Design electrical circuit boards, such as signal and power conditioning, industrial controls, etc.
- Troubleshoot test equipment failures at the component, board, harness, and system level
- Develop integrated systems using fieldbus and ethernet communications (Modbus, CAN bus, TCP, etc.)
- Create wiring/interface diagrams
- Troubleshoot electronics using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and other laboratory equipment
- Design basic mechanical enclosures and panels
- Analyze systems data to make changes to the hardware configuration
- Author and maintain technical documentation
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and product validation activities
Requirements
- Must meet definition of US Person
- Minimum of a degree in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field
- 2-5 years’ experience in a production or laboratory environment
- 2+ years’ experience with integrated test system design and development
- Experience with measurement and test software/hardware
- Strong understanding of analog/digital circuits, power supplies
- An ability to collaborate in a team setting as well as be an active individual contributor
- Willingness to travel on occasion (10%)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience modeling/simulating electrical circuit operation in a spice program (e.g. LTSpice)
- Previous experience in the aerospace, medical, and/or defense industries
- 5+ years’ experience with integrated test hardware/software design and development
- Experience with manufacturing high reliability equipment
- Experience with vacuum chambers and vacuum-rated materials
- Experience with data acquisition systems and hardware (LabVIEW, PLCs, etc.)
- A solid understanding of applicable engineering principles, business practices, and experience working directly with hardware in the aerospace industry is highly desirable
- Manufacturing experience in an AS9100, ISO9001 environment
- Some experience with a parametric CAD program (SolidWorks, UGNX, or similar)
