About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on electrical engineer with 5–8 years of experience in test system development, subsystem-level electrical integration, and characterization. This role requires direct lab-based execution, taking systems from concept through build, bring-up, and sustained support.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical characterization of subsystems including voltage/current measurements, signal integrity and timing analysis, noise, and grounding
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving analog/digital electronics, power supplies, converters, motor drives, and communication interfaces (I²C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet, USB)
- Own test execution in the lab including bring-up of new testers and subsystems, debug under schedule pressure, and support for design verification and troubleshooting activities
- Use lab equipment extensively including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power analyzers, and environmental/stress testing setups
- Design, build, and maintain subsystem characterization testers including power distribution and protection, signal conditioning and measurement, and control/interlocks/safety circuits
- Develop custom test hardware including fixture schematics, wiring harnesses, and test jigs
- Integrate testers with mechanical fixtures, sensors, actuators, power electronics, embedded systems, and lab/production environments
- Work closely with design engineers (EE, ME, firmware, systems) and manufacturing teams
- Clearly document designs, test results, and design changes
Requirements
- 5–8 years of hands-on electrical engineering experience with majority focused on test system/tester development and subsystem-level electrical integration and characterization
- Demonstrated experience designing, analyzing, and debugging analog and digital circuits, power electronics, and low-voltage/high-current systems
- Demonstrated experience in complex electrical system design and integration
- Strong analytical skill in circuit analysis and failure diagnostics
- Strong logical reasoning and ability in root cause analysis and proactive corrective actions
- Strong practical troubleshooting skills using lab instrumentation
- Experience taking test systems from concept → build → bring-up → sustained support
- Ability to work directly in the lab and drive issues to closure
- Understanding of design considerations for EMI/EMC, thermal management, and reliability
- Experience in manufacturing support and DFM/DFT
- 5–10 years of industry experience with Xpedition tool from setting up layout constraints, placement, routing and releasing to fab (Altium and Allegro optional)
- Individual responsibility to handle from scratch—library creation, layout design until final Gerber sent for manufacturing
- Ability to design large, complex multilayer PCBs with various stack-up topologies
- Ability to define stack-up and work closely with PCB house
- Experience with Type3 & Type4 PCB designs
- Rich experience in microcontroller, DDR and power circuit boards, Camera & LCD interface boards
- Experience with uvias & HDI boards
- Good experience with CAM350 (Gerber verification)
- Immediate onboarding into live projects
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across the product development lifecycle
- Experience with digital, analog, and mixed circuits
- Experience with embedded subsystems
- Experience with motion control systems
- Experience with sensor and transducer technologies
- Experience with power distribution subsystems
- Proficiency with communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, RS-232, and RS485
- Any relevant certifications in design verification & validation, PCB Design Tool, or related fields
What We Look for in the Resume
- Hands-on hardware ownership, not only analysis or oversight
- Direct tester development (schematics, wiring, fixtures)
- Subsystem integration and bring-up work
- Real troubleshooting examples, not just theoretical design
- Consistent execution in lab-based roles over the last 5 years
Work Style & Mindset
- Practical, "get-it-working" engineering mindset
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, early-development environments
- Strong ownership of problems from discovery to resolution
- Collaborative, but able to work independently in the lab
