Electrical Technician (Instrumentation)

About the role

The Electrical Technician will perform routine electrical troubleshooting of refinery equipment and installation/restoration of electrical controls. This role requires independent work and efficient use of materials, equipment, and time.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and calibrate instruments throughout the refinery, including flow meters, burners, transmitters, levels, temperature devices, recorders, and controllers.
• Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain control, measurement, and indicating instrumentation (pneumatic, analog, and digital).
• Inspect and test the operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, specifications, or verbal instructions for the construction, installation, adjustment, maintenance, and repair of electrical and instrument systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret ladder logic, P&IDs, one-line electrical drawings, process flow diagrams, and instrument service manuals.
• Create concise and coherent inspection, repair, and coverage reports.
• Install conduit, piping, tubing, cables, wiring, and electro-mechanical equipment for power, light, control, signal, instrument, and distribution systems.
• Analyze electrical circuits, connections, operating requirements, and equipment conditions to proceed with installation, adjustment, and maintenance or repair work.
• Perform preventative maintenance.

Requirements

• Flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Knowledge of code requirements for electrical installations.
• Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts, and weekends on a regular basis.
• High regard for personal safety and the safety of others.
• Controls circuit experience and proven troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to perform tasks while wearing required PPE (e.g., protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed boots).
• Ability to work as part of a team in a unionized environment.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

Pay

$51.11 per hour
