About the Role

InCharge Energy is seeking an Electrical Technician III to support the service needs of its customers. The technician will work at the local branch InCharge Office, reporting to the Service Manager, with a focus on electrical infrastructure, EV charging devices, solar, and battery systems. This role requires significant regional travel to ensure timely and customer-centered turnkey delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Electric/Infrastructure Duties:
    • Intermediate understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) and local regulations.
    • Perform accurate calculations for circuits, panels, and service loads.
    • Panel Work: Install breakers, label circuits, and understand load balancing greater than 600 amps.
    • Installation of emergency drivers, contactors, time clocks, and troubleshoot EMS systems.
    • Perform in-field installation of civil and electrical infrastructure, including running conduit and wire, trenching, and associated civil work.
    • Wire buildings and electrical systems (commercial, industrial), install lighting, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, panels, transformers, and generators.
    • Support multi-person work assignments and EPC-related field activities through hands-on assistance with installation and maintenance tasks.
    • Troubleshoot electrical issues, repair or replace faulty wiring, fixtures, or equipment, and perform inspections and preventive maintenance.
    • Retrofit older systems to meet current standards, upgrade panels or service capacity, and install energy-efficient systems (e.g., LED lighting).
    • Assist in coordinating third-party vendors for installations.
  • Specialty Equipment Maintenance and Service:
    • Perform preventative maintenance by inspecting, testing, and maintaining EV charging systems and electrical infrastructure.
    • Install, commission, service, and support all EV charging systems (AC and DC) for which the technician is certified.
    • Perform bolt-downs and infrastructure-related field work to support site installations and upgrades.
    • Basic understanding of civil and construction work.
    • Install, commission, service, and support solar and battery systems and infrastructure for which the technician is certified.
    • Repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and service electrical charging infrastructure using tools ranging from computer diagnostics to basic electrical tools.
    • Measure charging infrastructure performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Workflow, Documentation, and Training:
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project, work order, and job documentation in Procore, Salesforce, and other systems.
    • Follow all safety standards, site requirements, and company procedures.
    • Participate in training programs to build technical competency and advance within the technician career path.
    • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete work efficiently and effectively.
    • Shadow and assist lower-tier technicians to share knowledge, troubleshooting techniques, electrical safety, workflows, and best practices in customer service.
    • Represent the company at client locations with professional conduct.
    • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings.
  • Permit and code compliance knowledge.
  • OSHA 10 and/or 30 Card required or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in an applicable technical field is desirable.
  • ASE or other applicable certifications are desirable.
  • Commercial Driver’s license or ability to obtain is highly desirable.
  • ECAP certification (internal requirement) or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire.
  • Adaptable to the changing dynamics of start-up business strategy.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, diligent, and able to operate independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Procore or equivalent software is a plus.
  • Ability to travel 50% - 75% within the US.

Pay

Hourly Range: $35 USD - $43 USD
