Responsibilities

• Report to assigned job site location on time as directed.
• Maintain and properly store tools and equipment.
• Proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Accurately organize materials and tools to maintain a clean and neat work area.
• Erect and understand pulley systems to lift/move heavy objects.
• Dig trenches, either by use of hand tools or equipment.
• Accurately read labels, job site maps/directions, manuals, and written instructions.
• Direct and train helpers & apprentices in proper work practices.
• Accurately direct the work of level 1, 2, and 3 workers to meet production.
• Plan and organize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Visualize completed work prior to installation.
• Perform accurate layout of electrical systems with code clearances.
• Install duct banks and understand spacing requirements.
• Install panelboards and transformers.
• Proper use and selection of cables for installation per NEC.
• Perform material take-offs to execute work in a timely manner.
• Communicate with customers on issues and solutions.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 or more years of experience in electrical systems.
• Experience in terminations (e.g., aluminum, copper, twisted pair cable, terminating coaxial cable).
• Clearly understand and comply with company/job safety requirements (OSHA).
• Ability and knowledge to properly give "hand signals" to operators.
• Knowledge of series circuits, Ohm's Law, DC circuits, and resistance and its effect.
• Ability to add, subtract, divide, and use electrical formulas accurately.
• Knowledge of blueprints/shop drawings, including symbol use.
• Knowledge of use of degrees in bending conduit (e.g., concentric bending).
• Knowledge of switching procedures.
• Understanding and ability to follow the NEC.
• Knowledge of grounding practices, transformer protection/connections, insulating oils, overcurrent protection, parallel circuits, fuse operation, circuit breakers, motors, inductance, capacitance, and power factors.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Versed in the industry and the company's competitors.

Travel

5-10% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical Activities

• Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles.
• Climbing stairs.
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including tight and confined spaces.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Environmental Conditions

• Noisy environment.
• Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
• Low and high temperatures.
• Small and/or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands

Medium work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds.
