About the role

The Electrical Shop Supervisor oversees estimating, scheduling, and the overall build process for electrical control panels and equipment wiring. This role also manages scheduled and preventative maintenance procedures for shop machinery and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate control panel and product wiring costs
  • Generate electrical manufacturing cockpit charts
  • Manage the control panel assembly process and assign resources to meet project schedules
  • Maintain and update the database of electrical product costs and history
  • Update and maintain equipment preventative maintenance procedures and records
  • Attend and contribute to manufacturing strategy meetings
  • Purchase electrical components
  • Manage and control union personnel, including hiring and layoffs
  • Establish and maintain electrical panel shop continuous improvement and cost reduction programs

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • Eight or more years of position-related experience
  • Able to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Good understanding of the control panel assembly process and its time impacts on product and fabrication costs
  • Good understanding of union collective bargaining agreements
  • Good understanding of assembly and construction processes and their time impacts on product and fabrication costs
  • Good understanding of and experience with paint finishing related products and systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary
