Responsibilities
- Based out of our Bakersfield, CA service center and can expect to work in the field with up to 75% travel.
- Specialize in working on both low, medium, and high voltage switchgear including breakers with relays, motor starters, VFD’s, load break switches, transformers, load banks, and batteries.
- Install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment.
- Inspect circuits for specified shielding and grounding.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Proven knowledge of the principles of electricity and electrical design.
- 8+ years of formal technical training.
- 10+ years’ experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical switchgear, this will include both low volt and medium voltage power distribution gear. Should have knowledge with protection relays and meters.
- Positive, self- starter who enjoys working with others in a fast-paced environment to deliver consistent quality.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
Qualifications
- Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
- Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices.
- Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level.
- Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders.
- Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs.), push/pull (80 lbs.), carry (60 lbs.), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs.), stoop, kneel and squat.
