About the Role

To assist in achieving the company’s strategic objectives and annual goals through the delivery of exceptional service and support reflective of Hiller Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electrical’s vision, mission, purpose, and values.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive customer experience.
  • Assist in performing a thorough and accurate electrical inspection, including a Health and Safety Checklist, and communicate findings to the customer in a written option sheet.
  • Assist in completing all electrical repairs and replacements to applicable code.
  • Assist in the completion of all required documentation on services and collect, record, and deliver fees to office administration.
  • Transport materials and tools to the job site and provide proper accounting of assigned tools.
  • Keep truck clean, stocked, and accurately inventoried.
  • Follow state and local laws and regulations and adhere to local building codes.
  • Assist in preparing a detailed finding report with pictures for the Team Lead to discuss with the customer.
  • Present repair options, including cost, using the options sheet.
  • Assist in recording all material used or consumed on the job for job costing and replenishing.
  • Understand when to issue a “Lock Out/Tag Out” tag and the required follow-up steps.
  • Protect the customer's home from damage while working and leave the customer's home cleaner than when you arrived.
  • Inform a team lead/supervisor/manager if the customer does not have electrical service before leaving the call.
  • Inform team lead/manager or team leader of any safety issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a State Electrical License preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One to three years’ experience preferred but not required in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of diverse electrical service issues.
  • Valid driver’s license and approved to drive by the Company’s insurance carrier.
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a desire to exceed customer expectations.
  • Team player working in a team environment.
  • Ability to use a computer tablet, smartphone, and read a map or follow GPS.

Physical Requirements

  • Work in outdoor elements with extreme variation in temperatures and weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) at least 50% of the time.
  • Climb ladders and steep stairs.
  • Majority of time spent standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, and reaching.
  • Often works in tight spaces such as attics and/or crawlspaces.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds; push, pull, carry, or maneuver heavier items with additional manpower or appropriate devices.
  • Occasionally work from heights up to 15 feet above ground.
  • Able to carry a 24-foot extension ladder alone and/or a 40-foot extension ladder with a co-worker on most jobs.
  • Good visual acuity.

Position-Specific Standards

  • Willing to attend training classes to advance skills.
  • Willing to work hours outside of the normal work schedule when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality on all private, sensitive, and proprietary business issues.
