Responsibilities
- Leverage expertise in electrical design to create effective, energy-efficient, and sustainable solutions while ensuring compliance with local codes and industry standards.
- Lead electrical design for various project types and deliver projects across multiple delivery models, including design/bid/build, design assist, and full design.
- Develop contract drawings from Schematics through Construction Documents.
- Apply engineering principles to electrical distribution, lighting, and power systems design.
- Effectively communicate design options to a diverse stakeholder group.
- Independently evaluate and apply engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete a project from concepts through construction.
- Apply knowledge of building codes and electrical industry standards.
- Perform engineering calculations and equipment selection.
- Perform site visits and issue reports.
- Generate and edit project specifications.
- Attend meetings with clients and project teams.
- Support construction administration, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
- Contribute strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proactively enhance technical quality by staying updated with emerging technologies, evolving building codes, and advancements in the industry.
- Collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment to produce integrated project documents, ensuring cohesive design strategies and solutions.
- Manage project time efficiently, contributing to timely project delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Mentor junior staff and provide quality control for project documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in electrical engineering within the building construction industry.
- Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and the Microsoft Office products.
- Experience modeling electrical systems & compiling construction documents in Revit.
- Experience with NEC.
Qualifications
- PE license is preferred.
- LEED AP is preferred.
- Expert knowledge of Washington State and Seattle codes and sustainable design practices.
- Electric Utility coordination, including experience with submitting service applications. SCL and PSE experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with design of Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure.
- Project Management experience.
