Electrical Safety Inspector - South Western Ohio

This position is with the Division of Industrial Compliance, which ensures safety in public buildings through code enforcement, inspections, and licensing across southwestern Ohio (Fayette, Highland, Adams, Brown, Butler, Clinton, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren Counties). Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections using approved architectural and/or engineer‑designed drawings.
• Coordinate inspections with other inspectors and the supervisor during construction.
• Conduct inspections of existing buildings and structures for safety to determine Certificate of Occupancy eligibility.
• Prepare detailed written or electronic reports on inspections for submission to the bureau office.
• Itemize violations of the electrical and building codes.

Qualifications

• Certificate of competency as an Electrical Safety Inspector issued by the Ohio Board of Building Standards per ORC §3783.03.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass an agility assessment demonstrating capacity to endure hazardous elements of the position.

Pay

$31.47 – $46.08 per hour.

Schedule

Permanent, full‑time; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
