Electrical Safety Inspector

Description

Examples of Duties:

• Makes inspection of electric wiring, electric signs, and the installation of electric motors and other equipment for the purpose of insuring compliance with laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
• Inspects finished work and work in process.
• Examines permits for the installation of electrical equipment.
• Keeps necessary records.
• Reports violations and non-compliance with laws, ordinances, rules, regulations.
• Prepares reports.

Qualifications

Required:

• A State of Ohio Board of Building Standards (OBBS) Interim certification as an Electrical Safety Inspector? Interim is required and must be maintained throughout employment; a full certification is preferred.
• List the OBBS number and expiration date at the time of applying.
• Experience as a building department ESI trainee.
• Experience as a Journeyman Electrician or equivalent for six years.
• An Electrical Engineer registered in the State of Ohio.
