About the role
This position covers South-Central Ohio including Fayette, Ross, Vinton, Highland and Jackson Counties. You must live in one of these listed counties or an adjacent county to be eligible for this position.
Responsibilities
- Performs field inspections using approved architectural and/or engineer designed drawings.
- Coordinates inspections with other inspectors and supervisor when needed during the course of construction.
- Conducts, as needed, inspections of existing buildings and structures for safety to determine if Certificates of Occupancy may be issued.
- Prepares detailed reports (written or electronic) on inspections performed for submission to the bureau office.
- Itemizes violations to the electrical and building codes.
Requirements
- Certificate of competency as electrical safety inspector as issued by Board of Building Standards, per Section 3783.03 of Revised Code.
- Valid driver’s license.
- An agility assessment will be conducted to ensure capability to endure hazardous elements of this position.
